How to accessorize your outfits with belts

What colors are you sporting? Black and purple? Reds? Neutrals. Whether you opt for solids or prints, a girly or tom boyish look, choosing the right accessories completes the appearance in the best possible way. Have you considered adding a belt to your outfit to get a creative flair?

western jewel beltsThe very stylish 80’s style begs for the addition of a belt on the long and slouchy tops to make them look hip. Add a belt on your hips or possibly below your waist if you have a pear shaped body. If you think about it, even high ‘waisted’ skirts and trousers cry out for fashion belts. Why not try wide or thin western jewel belts to accentuate your sexy waist line?
Do you like it funky? Add some variety with a thick black cinch belt with crystals rather than a standard brown belt with your denims all the time. In fact cinch belts work very well to alter the draping of larger shapeless garments. You could combine them with tunics or bell shaped dresses to look fantastic.
Interestingly a casual dress can be made into evening attire with just a simple belt. A dress would provide a flattering silhouette. Recently I wore a loose summer dress cinched with a belt and teamed it with decadent jewelry and stilettos for a party. That night I received several compliments! In fact if you like the fitted look, accessorize it with skinny belts possibly around the waist, bust or even gracing the hip area!
Going out after work? It is a simple transition. Just put on a glitzy belt and jewellery. With this shift outfit you will be ready for the party without having to pack another outfit. If you think about it, work suits look more chic if you wear a belt with an attractive buckle, skinny, wide or large.
Whether you use them for seasonal changes, work or play, belts are the perfect way to accessorize an outfit!
