Cobalt or electric blues make a comeback this season after a couple of years of frenzy. You can see it everywhere starting from Michael Kors watches to red-carpet dresses. Jessica Alba sported a flowing, cobalt blue Versace at the 2011 BAFTA awards. Olivia Wilde and Kylie Minogue were seen sporting similar styles too.
The electric blue frenzy is not restricted to cobalt. It’s being merged with royal blues, gold and even purple. You can pick from fabrics like chiffons, georgettes and even satin. Experiment with lengths and cuts.
I love what Nina Dobrev has done with the hue. She wore a short electric blue dress, which works great for women who are trying to shed off those extra pounds. Made of silk satin, it is a corset style with a leather jacket.
To flaunt those curves, check out Emily Osment’s style at the 2010 MTV Awards 2010. The Max Azria gown adds an electrifying touch to the vibrant blue. The details on the fabric come out prominently.
